    • PURPOSE:To maintain low the radioactives in the primary coolant and the surface dose equivalent rate of components and material by optimizing the chemical form and particle diameter of iron for insecting. CONSTITUTION:Iron crud concentration is measured with the sampling line 13 from the outlet of water condenser demineralizer and a concentration meter 16. The data concerning the iron crud concentration, chemical form, particle diameter, surface reactor ratio measured with a supply water sampling line 14 and a meter 17 is used in a calculator 19 to judge whether the iron crud concentration in the supply line is decreasing. If it is decreasing, it is controlled not to decrease by changing the chemical form or particle diameter. The corrosion product concentration and radioactive species concentration in the reactor water are measured with a concentration and radioactivity meter 18 in a reactor water sampling line 15. The calculator 19 evaluates the effective surface area contributing to the ion solving from the crud deposited on fuel rods taking the corrosion product concentration in the supply water into account. Also by monitoring the water contact area, iron particle is supplied properly into the primary coolant to maintain the water contact area properly.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating a liquid having high sterilization and inactivation performances, and also economical using ultraviolet light having a plurality of wavelengths and a fine air bubble together; and an apparatus for treating the liquid.
      SOLUTION: The method comprises the steps of installing irradiation means 2 for irradiating the inside of a reactor 1 with the ultraviolet light having at least two wavelength peaks, generating a two-phase flow 10 containing a fine air bubble of gas 8 by injecting the gas 8 into a part of treated water 6 by air bubble generation means 4, injecting the generated two-phase flow 10 from air bubble injection means 11 into the reactor 1, receiving the ultraviolet light having at least two wavelength peaks radiated by the irradiation means 2 into water to be treated 5 flowing from an injection port 12 in the top of the reactor 1 while the fine air bubble 9 is retained, and discharging it from a discharge port 13 in the bottom of the reactor 1 as the treated water 6.
