    • PURPOSE:To obtain high recording density by fixing a piezoelectric element to the back of a slider and arbitrarily changing the flat degree of a slider surface, which faces to a magnetic disk, with an impressing voltage. CONSTITUTION:By impressing the voltage to a piezoelectric element 4, which is fixed to the back of a slider 2 of a magnetic head slider 1, before a disk 5 is rotated, the piezoelectric element 4 generates deformation in the thickness direction of the slider 2 and then, the slider 2 surface to face to the magnetic disk 5 is deformed in a circular arcuate shape. Accordingly, attraction between the magnetic disk 5 and the magnetic head slider 1 is reduced. On the other hand, by removing the impressing voltage after the disk 5 is rotated, the slider 2 surface to face to the magnetic disk 5 surface goes to be flat and a minimum floating interval can be positioned to the flowing-out edge part of the slider 2, namely, to a thin film element 3 part. Accordingly, an arbitrary setting can be executed to an optimum crown height hc to the attraction. Thus, the high recording density can be obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To increase recording density without decreasing the thickness of a thin magnetic film, amt. of spacing and the thickness of a protective film by constituting the thin magnetic film in such a manner that the coercive force in the thickness direction thereof is smaller the nearer the substrate. CONSTITUTION:This recording medium is constituted by forming an underlying film 3 consisting of a cobalt-phosphorus alloy and chromium on an aluminum substrate 2 consisting of an aluminum base material, then forming the thin magnetic film 4 consisting of a cobalt-nickel alloy thereon and further, forming a lubricative carbon for improving the corrosion resistance of the film 4 and the sliding resistance of a head 6 on the film 4. The coercive force Hc of the thin 4 is changed according to the thickness direction of the film 4 so that the coercive force in the thickness direction is smaller the nearer the substrate. The coercive force of the thin magnetic film is, therefore, relatively increased without decreasing the thickness of the thin magnetic film, the amt. of spacing and the thickness of the protective film.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the slidability of a device to a recording medium by forming the face, which faces the recording medium, of the device with materials which has enough heat conductivity to carbonate a binder of the recording medium when this face is slided on the recording medium. CONSTITUTION:If ceramics having a low heat conductivity such as ZrO2 are used as a base material, the temperature rises considerably because of less radiation, and the binder is carbonated, and the carbide improves the slidability, and therefore, a long life is expected. When the face, which faces the recording medium, of a magnetic head is formed with various kinds of material and is allowed to collide artificially with a magnetic disc to measure sliding characteristics of individual materials, the magnetic head is floated on the rotating magnetic disc and a specific oscillation is given to the magnetic head for the purpose of accelerating the collision phenomenon between the magnetic head and the magnetic disc. As the result of measurement where materials indicated in a table 1 are used as slider materials of the nagnetic head, the life of sliding of various kinds of materials is longer according as the heat conductivity is lower, and materials having >=0.03cal/cm.sec. deg.C heat conductivity are superior in sliding characteristic.

    • PURPOSE:To cause a magnetic disk to be hard to damage even with the repetition of a contact start stop CSS and to lengthen a CSS resisting lifetime by preventing a contact pressure between a magnetic head and the magnetic disk from being increased too much and releasing an attracted condition between the magnetic head and magnetic disk. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic head is composed of a slider part 3 having a floating surface 2 opposed to a magnetic disk 1 and a supporting spring part 4 to support the slider part 3 and to give a press force to the magnetic disk 1. To the supporting spring part 4, a strain gage 5 to detect the attracted condi tion between the floating surface 2 and magnetic disk 1 is fitted, and further, a piezoelectric element 6 to deform the slider 3 and to change the floating surface in an arc shape is fitted on a surface at a side opposite to the floating surface 2 of the slider 3. In such a way, the attracted condition between the magnetic head and magnetic disk can be released without increasing the contact pressure between the magnetic head and magnetic disk too much at the time of the contact start. Thus, the magnetic disk is hard to damaged even due to the repetition of the CSS, and the CSS resisting lifetime can be lengthened.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of a recording/reproducing signal by forming a projection to an elastic part of a member used in common and mounting a damper member to a part to be fixed in contact with the said projection so as to make the floating of a core slider stable even if an external disturbance is caused in a magnetic disk device. CONSTITUTION:The projection 27 improving the rigidity of the elastic part 25 is provided to the elastic part of the member 22 used in common. Further, the damping member 28 in contact with the projection 27 at a proper weight is provided to a fixed part 26. In case of the core slider 11 floated, if an external disturbance due to the air flow attended with the rotation of the magnetic disk and the vibration of the guide arm of the carriage is caused in the device using the magnetic head, the elastic part 25 of the member 22 is vibrated vertically or in the torsional direction and it might cause the floating of the core slider 11 unstable. Since the projection 27, however, is provided to the elastic part 25 and the rigidity of the elastic part 25 is enhanced, the vibration caused to the elastic part 25 is reduced surely.
