    • PURPOSE:To enhance dust collecting efficiency by a method wherein a position of a dust collecting port is set to a space from a cooling air inlet in a spiral air passage to a semicircle part and dust is collected by utilizing centrifugal force or the like due to a cyclone, to reduce pressure loss. CONSTITUTION:Cooling air is directed to a top plate side from a bottom plate side in a spiral air passage 14 shown by an arrow X while whirled therein. In this case, dust or the like mixed in the cooling air at an initial period of whirling is flied into a dust collecting chamber 16 from a dust collecting port 15 directly under a cooling air inlet 13 by inertia force when the air is sucked or inertia due to gravity of dust or the like as shown by an arrow Y. The dust or the like not separated by the aforementioned inertia is revolved through the spiral air passage 14 to be directed to a top plate side and pushed to an inner wall side of an outer cylinder 4 by centrifugal force due to a cyclone during revolution and flied into the dust collecting chamber 16 from the dust collecting port 15. The accumulated dust 18 or the like is removed by detaching a part 20a of a side plate 20 to open the dust collecting chamber 16.

    • PURPOSE: To improve the efficiency of collecting dust such as fine sandy one or snow, by providing an intake for gathering air for cooling an outer cylinder at the bottom plate of the outer cylinder for covering inner and outer cylinders vertically provided around an air-supply hole at a position facing to the bottom plate having the air-supply hole.
      CONSTITUTION: An intake 25 for gathering cooling air is provided on a bottom plate 21A between inner and outer cylinders 22, 23, and a strainer 26 is attached to the front part of said intake 25 for gathering cooling air. A guide plate 30 for limiting the turning motion of cooling air is provided at a position directing toward the inner cylinder 22 from the outer cylinder 23. By providing the intake 25 for gathering cooling air at the bottom plate 21A and arranging said intake 25 with a right angle to the direction of a wind coming in contact with the intake 25 for gathering cooling air, the influence of wind pressure during the running of a vehicle can be extremely lowered. A turbulent flow at the part of the intake 25 for gathering cooling air is eliminated, too. Hence, the excellent efficiency of collecting dust is obtained, even for fine sandy dust or light snow which would be easily affected by said turbulent flow.

    • PURPOSE: To miniaturize a dust collector without lowering the efficiency of dust collection by providing a cooling air inlet in the top wall of an outer cylinder and guiding cooling air taken from the inlet toward the direction of cooling air being turned between the outer cylinder and an inner cylinder.
      CONSTITUTION: A through hole is provided in a top wall 4 to form a cooling air intake port 22, and a guide plate 21 by which cooling air taken from the intake port 22 is directed toward the direction of cooling air being turned between an outer cylinder 3 and an inner cylinder 2 is also provided. A comparatively large size of dust particles present in cooling air taken from the upper cooling air intake port 22 are screened by a strainer, and also fine dust particles collide against the upper guide plate 21 and is intruded on the outer cylinder 3 side by an inertia. Since air taken from the intake port 5 is turned on the outer cylinder 3 side, dust coming form the intake port 22 by the turning movement flies into a dust-collecting port 6 from the intake port 22 and is deposited in a dust collecting chamber 7. On the other hand, cooling air taken from the upper part of the inner cylinder 2 is cleaned by centrifugal force, sucked from the upper part of the inner cylinder 2 into inside, and then directed into a motor from an air supply port 1a on the bottom plate side of the inner cylinder 2.
