摘要： PURPOSE: To enable communication while easily dealing with the change of a communication protocol as well by storing a communication attribute together with an identifier and performing communication processing according to a processing sequence generated while referring to the communication attribute corresponding to the applied identifier. CONSTITUTION: When a user inputs a command for the definition or change request of the communication attribute, a communication attribute definition processing part 221 registers the inputted communication attribute onto a communication attribute table 230 while adding a communication attribute group identifier 232 to it as one communication attribute group 231 or updates the contents of the communication attribute group 231 corresponding to the found communication attribute group identifier 232 by retrieving this table 230. Besides, when an application program 210 designates the communication attribute group identifier 212 and exchange data 213 and performs an exchange request 211 to a communication program 220, a communication processing part 222 extracts the communication attribute group 231 corresponding to the designated identifier 212 by retrieving the communication attribute table 230, generates a communication sequence while referring to the communication attributes consisting of this communication attribute group 231 and performs communication processing.

SOLUTION: The source divides data to be restored or updated into logical units, adds identifiers for the data to be updated or restored by the division units, and send them in parallel without being aware of respective destinations (622), and each destination discriminate its necessary data, judges whether the data is being updated or restored, and receives the data in the division units (624). For restoration, the source manages the state of the restoration not by the destination, but totally (623) and the destinations have functions which judge that the restoration is completed by themselves on receiving all the division units (624).

A conversion program by the means 121 and 112 acts like giving reception data to an application 113 without modification in the case of a start request from a 1:1 communication means 115. Conversion processing is conducted only when an Endian of the received data differs from that of its own computer in the case of a start request from a multi-cast/broadcast communication means 118.

CONSTITUTION:This information processing system mounting a central processing unit (CPU) has a performance measurement validating register 322 for indicating the validity/invalidity of a performance measuring function, and when the validity of the measuring function is indicated by the register 322, a control circuit 311 drives one of duplexed systems as a performance measuring mechanism and counters 1 (308) to 3 (310) are used as counters for totalizing performance information. When the invalidity of the measuring function is indicated, both the systems in the duplexed systems are driven as CPUs. At the time, the counters 1 (308) to 3 (310) are used as bus controlling timer counters.
