摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To embody a thin-film magnetic head with which pseudo signals at the time of reproduction are suppressed because the ridge lines of an auxiliary magnetic pole is non-parallel with a main magnetic pole, and which is small in inductance and high in recording and reproducing efficiency because the leakage magnetic fluxes between the main magnetic pole and the auxiliary magnetic pole are decreased. SOLUTION: The ridge line 4a of the auxiliary pole exposed on a medium- sliding surface is non-parallel with the ridge line of the main magnetic pole. The end face 4c of the auxiliary magnetic pole facing the surface 6c where the main magnetic pole is formed is non-parallel, the distance G therebween is made larger in the direction toward the depth of the head from the medium- sliding surface. This process for production includes a stage for forming V- grooves 14, 15 orthogonal with a magnetic substrate 40 for the auxiliary magnetic pole.

摘要： PURPOSE: To make it possible to produce a multilayered coil with a simple method by connecting upper layer coils to lower layer coils via the through-holes formed on these corresponded lower layer coils and connecting the lower layer coils to each other via the upper layer coils. CONSTITUTION: A head element 10 is composed of a head substrate 11, a lower magnetic core 12, an upper magnetic core 13, a juncture (rear juncture) 14 of the core 12 and the core 13, two layers of coil conductors 15, an interlayer insulating layer 16a, an insulating layer 16, a magnetic gap part 17 and two pieces of bonding pad parts 18a, 18b which are the terminals to supply current to the conductors 15. The conductors 15 which are the main constituting elements for the electromagnetic conversion characteristics of the element 10 are formed spirally around the juncture 14 of the core 12 and the core 13. The conductors 15 consist of the two layers, the lower layer coil and the upper layer coil and these coils are electrically connected in the central part of the winding. All the coils on a head wafer are electrically connected each other.

摘要： PURPOSE:To make possible replay of an optical disc dedicated for reproduction and a writable disc using a same player by employing a writable optical disc having a C/N ratio higher than a predetermined value and using a recording format same as that for the optical disc dedicated, for reproduction. CONSTITUTION:A writable optical disc 8 is constituted of a recording layer comprising double structure of Sb2Se3 211 and Bi 213, and a protective film 214 of ultraviolet ray curable resin formed on an acrylic resin board 209. With such disc 8, C/N ratio of 60dB or above can be obtained by projecting laser light to a land part 211 through an objective lens 215 in the recording and utilizing interference effect of the phase difference of a recording film before and after recording and the phase difference of group. Consequently, a disc 6 recording an image software 1 with same format as a normal laser disc can be played using a player section 5 same as that of an optical disc 7 dedicated for reproduction.

CONSTITUTION:A thin-film magnetic head 3 is formed in such a way that a lower-part core is formed on a nonmagnetic substrate having a difference in level taking into consideration a height (h) after a polishing and working operation or that an interlayer insulating layer 9, a coil 1 for an electromagnetic conversion and one pair of upper-part magnetic-core halves are formed on a magnetic substrate having a difference in level of a height (h) via a magnetic gap so as to be brought face to face. A face on which the upper-part cores are brought face to face is nearly at right angles to the surface of the lower-part core 5, and the surface of both upper-part magnetic-core halves is formed of an upper-part core 2 which is used as a sliding and moving face with reference to a recording medium. x0 indicates the position of a gap depth of 0, and x1 indicates the position of a prescribed gap depth. Consequently, a gap 8 from x0 up to x1 becomes an effective gap for an electromagnetic conversion. After a head formation process has been completed, a polishing and working operation is performed to form a prescribed curvature Rx in order to enhance a tape touch, and the gap depth (d) of individual heads becomes equal.

摘要： PURPOSE:To reduce an impedance noise and to attain high S/N by making the cross section of a coil conductor inverted trapezoidal and forming the insulating layer of the conductor with an inorg. insulating material. CONSTITUTION:A lower magnetic core 2 and an upper magnetic core 6 are provided on a nonmagnetic substrate 1 to form a magnetic path through a gap 3. A coil conductor 5 insulated with an inorg. insulating layer 4 is wound in the cores 2 and 6. The coil insulating layer 4 consists of an inorg. insulating film of the oxide and nitride of Si, and the conductor 5 is made of Cu. The cross section of the conductor 5 is made almost inverted trapezoidal. Accordingly, an increase in the DC resistance of the coil is suppressed by increasing the thickness of the Cu material even if the width of coil is reduced since the conductor 5 has such a shape, and the number of turns of the coil can be increased. Besides, the DC resistance is reduced by increasing the thickness of Cu when the number of turns is the same, and hence the head impedance noise is reduced and S/N is improved.
