SOLUTION: An operation host executes virus check on volume, and, when virus infection is detected, transmits the infection state information according to the detection result to a management host. The management host, based on the infection state information, executes a predetermined processing for putting the state of path between it and the volume infected with virus into an off-line state. The operation host executes virus check to the volume, and, when virus infection is detected, transmits the infection state information according to the detection result to a management host. The management host specifies the influence range of virus infection, predicts the state after removing virus from the required volume existing in the influence range, and displays a prediction result on a screen.
