    • PURPOSE:To enable early handling by detecting possible contact before actual operation, by providing an electric insulation in the circumferential direction of a torus between superconductive coils while a calibre internal radiation shield is electrically insulated circumferentially to divide the shield into several zones. CONSTITUTION:A calibre internal radiation shield 4 of a nuclear fusion device is provided with several circular insulating matters 10 in the circumferential direction of a torus to form several zones 4a, 4b, 4c and 4d electrically insulated circumferentially. Each one end of leads 11 is electrically insulated in the respective zones of the calibre internal radiation shield 4 while the other end thereof 11 led out to a specified position outside a heated insulated vacuum container 7 together with a separate lead 9. With such an arrangement, during the assembling or before the start of operation following the completion of the entire assembling, it is possible to check for contact between a superconductive coil 5 and the calibre internal radiation shield 4 through the leads 9 and 11.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce intrusion of heat and to facilitate control of cooling gas of a large current lead wire for superconductive device by a method wherein cooling gas in the lead wire where a gaseous cooling agent is to be made to pass through after a superconductive coil is cooled is evacuated to form a vacuum condition. CONSTITUTION:The inside of the cylindrical lead wire 5 is evacuated utilizing a drawing port 10 for evacuation provided on the cylindrical lead wire 5, and when it reached the prescribed degree of vacuum, the drawing port 10 for evacuation is crushed to seal, and the structure inhibiting the pass of cooling gas is formed. Cooling of the cylindrical lead wire 5 is performed by cooling gas 7 flowing through the gap between the lead wire 5 and an outside cylinder 4.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent a generation of cracks in the end face of the roll drum, by applying a local heating to the roll in order to improve the wear resistance of a part which allows to contact with the inner race or the bearing. CONSTITUTION:Alocal heating is applied to a rolling roll, especially a collarless rolling roll, by heating its local part, which allows to contact with the inner race or the bearing, with a heat source of a good heat focusing property, like as laser, electric discharge, ion beam and electron beam. For example, the quench hardened part 5 is obtained by heating with five laser beams. This hardened part has an area merely several percentage of the contact area, however, it has an extremely superior wear resistance so that is hardly suffers from the wear troubles; besides, since the locally hardened part is guarded by the surrounding soft and tenacious basic structure, any crack does not generate nor grow further.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the magnitude of the inner force working between heat insulating supporters by incorporating an elastic mechanism into ordinary temperature side of the rear end of a heat insulating supporter attached to the heat insulating outside container or liquid helium, or the like. CONSTITUTION:An elastic mechanism 6f is arranged on the ordinary temperature side of the rear end in axial direction of a heat insulating supporter. The elastic mechanism 6f preserves the rigidity of the overall length of the heat insulating supporter, with its rigidity in axial direction made high, and secures the natural frequency between the inside container 1 and an outside container 5 above a certain tolerance. At the same time with this, the rigidity in the direction vertical to the axis is lowered to absorb the quantity of thermal shrinkage of a shield plate safely. The elastic mechanism 6f is provided, between the conventional flange 6e on ordinary temperature side and an outside container 5, with a thin metallic turnup structure, and the axial rigidity is made high and the rigidity in the direction vertical to the axis is made low, and this section absorbs the thermal shrinkage of the shield plate 3. Hereby, the magnitude of the force working on the heat insulator 6b can also be reduced, and the problem of the breakage can also be removed.
