摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an air flow effective in a device and to prevent a partial temperature increase by providing a hole in the side face of a cartridge for protecting an optical disk from dust and preventing air flow interference caused by disk rotation. SOLUTION: A disk 1 is housed in a cartridge 30, and holes 31 and 32 are provided in the side face of the cartridge 30. While the cartridge 30 is loaded in an optical disk, a shutter 34 is slid, the holes 31 and 32 are exposed and thereby air is supplied from the holes of the cartridge surface. When an optical disk 1 is rotated by the rotating force of a spindle motor, an air flow is generated from an inner periphery to an outer periphery, and an air flow circulated through the holes of the side face of the cartridge 30 is generated. Here, since the air flow is not interfered in the side face of the cartridge, a temperature in the device is uniform and a partial temperature increase is prevented.

The medium driving means to drive a record reproducing medium prevents dead space from generating due to vertical movement of the disc 2 and the cartridge 3, through ascending and descending operation of a spindle motor 6.

The CPU compares pattern information inputted from the sensors 111 to 113 with key information stored in its inside. Since succeeding operation is started only at the time of detecting coincidence between both the information, the card 101 can be prevented from being illegally used by a 3rd person.
