    • PURPOSE: To process a sort request in descending and ascending orders at a high speed by installing a pointer capable of pointing data in right and left directions between nodes of the same depth on an index of a tree structure.
      CONSTITUTION: The titled system is of an index model having a tree structure, and formed with a route page 1, an index page 2, leaf pages 3W5 and data 7 and 8 of one line on a table, which include a key value. In order to attain the retrieval in descending and ascending orders by such an index, the pointer capable of pointing in both directions is given between nodes on pages having the same depth. Owing to the installation of the pointer, data can be obtained by specifying one index key value, and the result sorted in the ascending or descending order can be obtained with the use of the index having the tree structure.

A table number management part 35 retrieves a table number management list 32 with the table name, and gives the same table number when the same table name is registered. The table definition part 34 generates a table 28 in a data base file 25 based on the table number transmitted by the network. At the time of the compiling of the job program 36 retrieving the table 27 of the same table name in RDBMS 15, an SQL object 31 which an SQL compiling part 33 generates can be shared by the nodes 12, 13 and 14.

    • PURPOSE:To minimize the exclusive range of a data store part by applying the assembly processing to the data store position information obtained while an exclusive operation is applied to an index part and applying an exclusive state to the data store part only at a part corresponding to the data store position obtained through the assembly processing. CONSTITUTION:An exclusive state is applied to an index part 12 so as to obtain the data store position information on each assembly of data with which the data are retrieved and assemblied. Then an exclusive state is left only in an idex page corresponding to the data page including the assembly of data and other index pages are released. Then an assembly processing part 14 applies the assembly processing to an assembly of data pages, and an exclusive state is applied to the corresponding data page of a data store part 11 corresponding to an obtained part. At the same time, the exclusive state of the index page of the part 12 is released and a data operating part 13 operates the data on the part kept in the exclusive state at the part 11. When this data operation is over, the exclusive state of the corresponding page of the part 11 is released. Thus the exclusive range of the part 11 is minimized.
