    • PURPOSE:To estimate a stress corrosive cracks sensitivity added with an increased quantity of the maximum activated current density due to an expected distortion by a method wherein an influence due to an expected distortion is corrected for the sharpened sensitivity of stainless steel measured by means of an electrochemical technique, thus, a sensitivity is estimated. CONSTITUTION:In an electrolytic cell 1, an electrolyte 2 wherein a small quantity of potassium thiocyanate is added to a sulfuric acid aqueous solution, is contained and it is poured from an electrolyte pouring inlet 5. A check electrode 3 is communicated with the electrolyte 2 through a connecting tube 6. A sample 4 is polarized in anode from a natural corrosion potential to a passive state potential through a sample pole 13 by means of a potentiostat 11 and it is retained in the passive state potential for a given time and thereafter, it is polarized to a counter direction in a given feeding speed. The current and a potential difference are measured through an ammeter 9 and a potentiometer 10, respectively and the relation thereof is recorded in a recorder 12.
