    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection valve of outswinging type wherein the shape of spray can be varied so as to be able to form a spray suitable for stratified combustion and homogeneous combustion respectively in order to satisfy both low fuel consumption and high output, and a fuel injection device. SOLUTION: A nozzle 2 has a plurality of fuel passages 5 internally. A valve element 10 has a conical valve element surface 16 facing a conical valve seat surface 15 of the nozzle and capable of operating vertically in the nozzle, and the valve element surface abuts on the valve seat surface to form a seat portion 11 for sealing fuel. The fuel passage 5 has an opening in the upstream of the seat portion 11. The distance between the seat portion and the valve element is variable in a state that the valve element is separated from the valve seat surface. A state where the cross-sectional area of the fuel passage becomes larger than the cross-sectional area of an annular gap between the seat portion and the valve seat surface of the valve element, or a state where the cross-sectional area of the fuel passage becomes smaller than the cross-sectional area of an annular gap between the seat portion and the valve seat surface of the valve element can be selected.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve atomization performance of fuel injected by a fuel injection valve, to realize a fuel passage for generating swirl stream by a simple configuration, and to reduce manufacturing cost.
      SOLUTION: This fuel injection valve is provided with a valve element 9 openable and closable to inject fuel and stop injection, a nozzle body 13 having a valve seat coming into contact with and leaving the valve element 9, and an injection plate 16 fixed to a lower end part of the nozzle body 13 and having a plurality of fuel injection holes 24. The nozzle body 13 has a fuel introducing hole 21with a diameter reduced smaller than a seat diameter of the valve seat. The injection plate 16 is composed of a fuel enlarged passage chamber 22 with a diameter enlarged larger than a diameter of the fuel introducing hole 21, a plurality of recessed fuel passages 23 substantially circumscribed about the fuel enlarged passage 22 chamber and extending in the radial direction of valve, and the fuel injection holes 24 provided on outlet end sides of these recessed fuel passages 23. Atomization is promoted and fuel is distributed into each fuel injection hole 24 with high precision by turning fuel efficiently and injecting fuel through the fuel injection holes 24.

      SOLUTION: A tip of a valve element or a valve seat surface of a fuel injection valve is formed to have a larger gap between the tip of the valve element and the valve seat surface formed with a conical surface than a gap made by connecting a cylindrical surface of the valve element to a spherical surface forming the valve seat with an arc. A cross sectional area of a flow passage outside the valve element abruptly increases starting from the valve seat surface. The abrupt increase reduces portions of the valve element subjected to pressure due to decrease in static pressure, thus reducing force acting on the valve element.
