摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to obtain a liquid crystal element which is lessened in unequal display and has high image quality by using specific imide ring-contg. org. molecules for the flattening and oriented films of orientation control layers holding a liquid crystal compsn., thereby increasing the allowance in a production process. SOLUTION: Wire-shaped electrodes 4, 1 are formed on the inner side of a pair of substrates 7, 7 and the liquid crystal compsn. is held between the substrates on both sides or one side of the flattening and orientation control films 5 of the substrate surfaces. The bar-shaped liquid crystal molecules 6 are subjected to orientation control toward a direction 10 by some angle in the longitudinal direction of the electrodes 4, 1 on the boundaries of both substrates by integration with the control films 5 and attain the state that the high polymers uniformly face the direction within the liquid crystal layer at the time of non-impression of an electric field. 摘要： PURPOSE:To decrease such characteristics as variation in the threshold voltage due to thermal ageing treatment or UV irradiation treatment, the frequency dependance of the threshold and variation in the pretilt angle without producing rubbing chips and to decrease various kinds of irregularity in the display by using a polyimide synthesized from six or more amine components and acid components between an electrode and a liquid crystal layer. Namely, the compsn. contains tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride having long-chain alkyl groups, tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride having no long-chain alkyl group, diamine having long-chain alkyl groups, and diamine having no long-chain alkyl group, and an oriented film for a liquid crystal display element is obtd. from this compsn. Thereby, even when calcination temp. of the oriented film is changed, the obtd. film has an almost constant pretilt angle and the frequency dependence of the threshold voltage can be stabilized.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain the liquid crystal display element twisted at 180 to 270 deg. by providing electrodes on the side facing the liquid crystal on liquid crystal crimping substrates and applying the soln. of specified polyamide acid on the substrates and the electrodes, then drying the coating and subjecting the coating to dehydration ring closure then to rubbing. CONSTITUTION:The electrodes are provided on the side facing the liquid crystal of the liquid crystal crimping substrates. The soln. of the polyamide acid obtd. by bringing 1, 6-diaminohexane, 1, 8-diaminooctane, 1, 12-diaminododecane, tetracarboxylic dianhydride, and aliphat. diamine into reaction is applied on the substrates and the electrodes and the coating is subjected to the drying and dehydration ring closure, by which the polyimide layers are formed. The layers are then rubbed to form the liquid crystal oriented films. The polyimide layers of the substrates formed in such a manner are so combined as to be antiparallel and the liquid crystal is sealed therein, by which the liquid crystal display element is constituted.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of an afterimage unevenness and brightness unevenness while enlarging the pretilt angle of a liquid crystal cell by using a polymer of a specified diamine compd. and tetracarboxylic acid and its deriv. as an org. oriented film. SOLUTION: This composition contains the polymer of an ortho type diamine consisting of a binding group hardly containing a polar group between an aromatic ring and the aromatic ring, the tetracarboxylic acid and its deriv. The ortho type diamine is an aromatic diamine containing a linear binding group preferably. Then the org. oriented film is obtained by dehydrocyclization after applying each precursor, for example poly (amic acid) and poly (amic acid)- imide, etc., on the substrate. In the liquid crystal alignment layer using such a composition, high pretilt angle, charging residual DC and discharge time, the frequency dependence of threshold voltage and the characteristic of voltage retention are improved compatibly. In this way, a liquid crystal display device especially low in generation of the brightness unevenness and the afterimage unevenness of a picture residual and high in display quality is obtained.
