    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cope with a long elevator shaft without extending a transmission distance in an optical space by disposing a light emitting device or a photo detecting device both at a top part and a base of an elevator shaft, and providing a photo detecting device or a light emitting device both in an upper part and a lower part of a cage. SOLUTION: A light emitting device 5 having a light transforming picture device is provided in an elevator shaft 1, a photo detecting device 6 having a light transforming picture device is provided opposite to the light emitting device 5 in a cage 3, whereby an optical signal (f) radiated from the light emitting device 5 is received by the photo detecting device 6. A transmitter 4 provided in a building manager room or the like outputs a picture signal to be displayed on a picture display device 8 to the light emitting device 5, the light emitting device 5 for receiving a picture signal converts the input signal to an optical signal (f), which is radiated to the photo detecting device 6. The photo detecting device 6 receives the optical signal (f), and the optical signal (f) is converted to a picture signal to read out a picture signal. A controller 7 outputs a read picture signal to the picture display device 8, and the picture display device 8 displays the picture signal.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend a transmission distance and to set an image device even in an elevator having a long distance hoistway by installing a plurality of light emitting devices (light receiving devices) on an elevator hoistway and sharing a transmission range according to transmission performance of the light emitting devices (light receiving devices). SOLUTION: When a car 3 is located at a lower part of a hoistway 1, the light emitting device 5 inputting an image signal from an image picking-up device 4 converts the image signal into a light signal (f) and transmits the signal (f). The light signal (f) is received by a light receiving device 6B mounted on an intermediate part of the hoistway 1 in a transmission range of the light emitting device 5. In the device 6B, the light signal (f) is converted into an image signal and the image signal is transmitted to an image recording processing device 9 via wiring 10. When the car 3 is located at an intermediate part of the hoistway 1, the light signal (f) is received by a light receiving device 6A on an upper side, is converted into an image signal by the light receiving device 6A in the same way and is transmitted to the video recording processing device 9, and video recording and a display on a monitor television are performed.
