When the mass of the weight 5 is made (m) and the spring constant of the elastic body 4 is made (k), the natural oscillation frequency (fo) of the weight 5 fitted through the elastic bodies 4 is expressed by an expression: fo= (1/(2π))Γ(k/m). This natural oscillation frequency (fo) is set to be lower than squeal frequency (fs) generated at the time of supplying a rim 3 with braking force by a brake lining 2. The squeal of a brake generated at the time of braking an automobile can thereby be reduced effectively only by adding inexpensive parts. The effect is large especially in the case of applying this constitution to a large vehicle with the brake drum 1 of large size, and the generation of squeal is prevented without any change of performance even if changing the brake lining.

    • PURPOSE:To enable injection timing to be more accurately detected than the injection timing obtained by an injection timing sensor, by fetching the input information of the present injection timing from a displacement sensor, which detects the operative displacement of an actuator, only when a Diesel engine is started. CONSTITUTION:A starter 18 is started by turning on a switch 19, and an engine 1 is placed in a cranking condition. A central processing unit (CPU) 8, if an ON- signal of this starter 18 is input, fetches detection signals of a speed sensor 2 and a load sensor 3 simultaneously the present injection timing information of an injection pump 10 from a detection signal of a displacement sensor 20. The CPU8, a reading the optimum injection timing information at starting stored in a memory device 9 from the detection signals of the speed sensor 2 and the load sensor 3, opens an oil pressure control valve 13 and operates an actuator 16 on the basis of this information. Controlling the operative displacement of this actuator 16 to be fed back to the CPU8 by the displacement sensor 20 during the cranking condition, control of the optimum injection timing is executed when the engine is started.
