摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten drying time by covering the surface of a lining lined with monolithic refractory with a heat-insulating material having microwave permeability and gas permeability and heating and drying the lining with irradiation of the microwave. SOLUTION: After forming the lining 1 of the refractory layer by kneading the monolithic refractory with water and pouring, the lining 1 is irradiated with the microwave from a microwave guide 5 and heated and dried. In such a case, the surface of the lining 1 is covered with the heat-insulating material 2 excellent in the microwave permeability and the gas permeability using silica fiber, etc. Since the heat-insulating material 2 easily permeates the microwave and reduces thermal radiation, the lining 1 is uniformly heated and dried from the inner part and also, this material has the excellent gas permeability, the steam from the lining 1 is easily executed into a gas exhaust hole 4, and the lining 1 can efficiently be dried in the short time. Further, it is desirable to execute the heating and the drying under reducing pressure.

摘要： PURPOSE:To control the oxidation of carbon and improve the corrosion resistance of a refractory by adding a vitreous material containing Li2O and F to a compounded refractory material containing a specific amount of a carbonaceous material. CONSTITUTION:The objective carbon-containing refractory for iron melting can be produced by adding 0.1-10wt.% of a vitreous material containing Li2O and F and a proper amount of a binder to 100wt.% of a composition containing 3-30wt.% of a carbonaceous material such as graphite and the remaining part of a refractory material. Since the added vitreous material has low softening point and gives a softened liquid phase having low viscosity, the material is liable to move between aggregate particles. Furthermore, since the vitreous material has improved wettability to the refractory material by the effect of Li2O and F, it can be easily crosslinked at the circumference of the carbon material to cover the carbon material and improve the oxidation preventing effect.

SOLUTION: The surface of residual lining 2 is applied with liquid silicone 3, and a repair material 4 composed of irregular-shaped refractories is added thereto to be dried. Accordingly, water vapor generated in a dry process of the repair material 4 is prevented from permeating into the residual lining 2, or permeation is remarkably suppressed, due to the presence of the silicone coating 3, so that the residual lining 2 can be prevented from being digested by the water vapor. Further, since MgO and CaO constituting the residual lining 2 are allowed to react with the silicone to be sintered, adhesive strength of the residual lining 2 with the repair material 4 is also improved.
