    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system for cooling the terminal winding of a rotor field coil in the machine such as a gas cooling type generator.
      SOLUTION: A machine (10) comprises a rotor (12) equipped with (a) coils (14) axially extending in a terminal winding region (26), (b) a plurality of voids (20, 36, and 38) among the coils (14) in the terminal winding region (26), and (c) a plurality of spacers (16) placed among the coils (14). A ventilation groove (30) comprising an inlet (32) and an outlet (34) is formed in the rotor (12) with at least some of the coils (14) containing at least one of the ventilation grooves (30). The ventilation groove (30) forms at least one gas flowing channel, from at least one first void (38) to (i) second void (36), or (ii) at least one of different parts of the first void (38).

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operation efficiency while keeping a component which is sensitive to heat in an electrical machine, within an optimal temperature range.SOLUTION: An electrical machine includes: a motor 18 provided with a stator 44 and a rotor 42 including a rotor shaft 48; a compressor 16 connected to the motor in a rotatable manner and provided with a compressor shaft 58; a housing 20 which accommodates the motor and the compressor therein, and is provided with a suction pipeline 28 which is connected to the compressor so as to circulate a fluid and causes the fluid 30 to flow to the housing; and a temperature control assembly which is connected to the housing so as to circulate a fluid. The temperature control assembly includes: a fluid moving part 72, which is coupled to at least one of the rotor shaft 48 and the compressor shaft 58, is subjected to in flow communication with the suction pipeline on the upstream side of the compressor, and allows the fluid to flow from the suction pipeline to make the motor and the compressor pass; and a first outlet 94 which is coupled to the housing, communicates with the fluid moving part, and communicates with and is coupled to the motor to cause the fluid to flow through the motor.
