    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize a fixed position of a laser diode.
      SOLUTION: An optical pickup has a package 7 with a flange section 7a which contains a laser diode LD and a holder 8. A fitting hole 9 comprising a concentric large diameter section 9A and a small diameter section 9B is provided so as to penetrate through this holder 8. One positioning projection 10 and a plurality of fitting projections 11 are integrally provided in circumferential direction with predetermined spacing at an inner circumference surface of the large diameter section 9A. An end face of the positioning projection 10 is an inclined plane 17 which inclines toward inside of the fitting hole 9 along the circumferential direction. One side face in contact with a lower end 17a of the inclined plane 17 out of both side faces of the positioning projection 10 is a reference plane 18. A positioning concave section 12 is fitted to the positioning projection 10 by rotating the flange section 7a clockwise R in contact with the inclined plane 17, and a right-hand inside face 12a of the positioning concave section 12 is brought into contact with reference plane 18 of this positioning projection 10 to press-fit the flange section 7a into fitting projections 11 by pushing the package 7 in the fitting hole 9.
