    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electronic equipment provided with a USB connector which prevents electronic components from destruction caused by discharging of static electricity from the outside of the device or static electricity charged on a USB plug or a human body.
      SOLUTION: An aperture 10a is formed at a portion of a housing 10 facing a USB connector 41 mounted on a circuit board 43, and at two long sides of the aperture 10a, a pair of cover members 13 is held on hinges 14 so as to be able to open and close and is forced in a direction of closing the aperture 10a by forcing members 15. The cover members 13 are formed of an electrically conductive material and grounded via the forcing members 15. In a state where a USB plug 44 is not coupled to the USB connector 41, the cover members 13 close the aperture 10a, and the USB connector 41 or the circuit board 43 is prevented from discharging static electricity from the outside of the housing 10. At connecting of the USB plug 44 to the USB connector 41, the top end and side surfaces of the USB plug 44 contact with the cover members 13, and static electricity charged on the USB plug 44 or a human body is discharged.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an image of good precision on a thick paper, in an image forming device with an inexpensive structure.
      SOLUTION: The image forming device is constituted of a paper feed tray 2 for holding a thick paper P, a transfer mechanism 3 for transferring the thick paper P held in the paper feed tray 2, an image forming part 4 for forming an image on the thick paper P, a lift motor 8 for vertically moving a platen 34 supporting the thick paper P in transfer, an infrared sensor 7 and a control unit 9 or the like for controlling each part. The infrared sensor 7 outputs to the control unit 9 the time taken after infrared light is irradiated onto the thick paper P held in the paper feed tray 2 until the infrared light reflected from the thick paper P is received. When an image is formed on the thick paper P, the control unit 9 uses the time output from the infrared sensor 7 to measure the thickness of the thick paper P, driving the lift motor 8 based on the thickness of the paper P to vertically move the platen 34 so that the distance between the print head 43 in the image forming position and the thick paper 43 comes within a fixed range.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce manufacturing costs by allowing a scanner device to read an original without requiring a sheet detection sensor or a sheet edge detection sensor.
      SOLUTION: A scanner unit 3 reads an original placed on an original platen 3a or a document fed onto a transmission plate 3b by an auto document feeder (ADF) 20 using a contact image sensor (CIS) or the like within a scanner housing 12. The ADF 20 feeds the document fed from an upper part of a document cover 11 using a feeding roller 21. In the ADF 20, an identification pattern 25 is formed at a portion that is imaged by the CIS through the transmission plate 3b. When starting reading the document, the feeding roller 21 is turned while imaging a surface of the transmission plate 3b using the CIS. When imaged data are changed from data indicating the identification pattern 25 within a predetermined period of time, it is judged that the document is being fed, and the document is read using the ADF 20.
