    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To completely prevent leakage of sludge and sewage from a mating part of an opening surface of left-right buckets.
      SOLUTION: In this clamshell bucket, the left bucket 4 and the right bucket 5 are rotatably arranged around support shafts 6 and 7 of a lower end part of left-right arms 2 and 3 having the upper end journaled to a machine body 1, and the mutual inside edges of the opening surface of the left-right buckets 4 and 5 are joined by a pivot shaft 8, and sediment of the sea bottom is dredged by opening-closing and moving the left-right buckets 4 and 5 by liftably operating its pivot shaft 8 by an opening-closing wire 11 of a crane. A part except for the opening surface of the left-right buckets 4 and 5 is formed into a sealed structure. Sealing packing 12 is installed in the mating part of the opening surface of the left-right buckets 4 and 5, and an air bleeding port 13 and an air bleeding door 14 for opening and closing this port are arranged on a back face of the left-right buckets 4 and 5. The mating part of its opening surface is made watertight when closing the left-right buckets 4 and 5 by grinding and processing the mating part of the opening surface of the left-right buckets 4 and 5.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sharply reduce the resistance of a tidal current by forming curved surfaces having a curvature sufficient to reduce the frictional resistance against the tidal current on the bottoms of a bow, a stem, and both sides. SOLUTION: A dredging machine 2 is provided on a hull 1. Curved surfaces 9a having a curvature sufficient to reduce the frictional resistance against a tidal current are formed on the bottoms of a bow 3 and a stem 4. Curved surfaces having a curvature sufficient to reduce the frictional resistance against the tidal current are formed on the bottoms of both sides over the whole length. Curved surfaces are formed on the bow 3 and the stem 4 in the direction perpendicular to both sides. The radius of curvature of the curved surfaces is determined based on the size of the hull 1 and the expected speed of the tidal current so that the frictional resistance is reduced by about 50% than in the past, and the resistance of the tidal current can be sharply reduced. Since the frictional resistance is reduced, the hull 1 can be moored by only three spuds 10 (each spud has the weight of 60 ton) for the dredging work.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent sludge and sewage once picked up by a bucket from falling or spilling out into the sea and also eliminate a buoyancy and sludge stirred up by air accumulated in the bucket. SOLUTION: Right and left buckets 4 and 5 are provided rotatably on pivot shafts 7 and 6 at the lower end part of right and left arms 3 and 2 having an upper end fixed though a shaft to a frame lowered by a sling rope from a crane, and the inside edges of the opening surfaces of the right and left buckets are connected to each other through a pivot shaft 8. The pivot shaft 8 is lifted up and down by an opening and closing wire of the crane to open and close and move the right left buckets 5 and 4 in order to dredge soil and sand at the sea bottom. Those areas other than the opening surfaces of the right and left buckets 5 and 4 are formed into a sealed structure, and a sealing packing 12 is installed at the mating part of the opening surfaces of the right and left buckets 5 and 4. Then, an air vent port 13 and an air vent door 14 to open and close the air vent port 13 are provided near the pivot shafts 6 and 7 of the right and left buckets 5 and 4.
