SOLUTION: This radar system which is being carried on the vehicle and scanning a prescribed scanning range with a radar wave includes a transmission control means, which transmits the radar wave at each first unit angle within the above scanning range, when a running speed of the vehicle is a first speed and transmits radar waves at each second unit angle which is larger than the first unit angle within the scanning range, when the running speed is a second speed slower than the first; and since a target object detecting means which detects the target object, based on the reflected waves from the target object of the transmitted radar waves, the radar system as a whole can suppress the transmission of an unwanted radar waves, while regarding the target object located at a short distance, the system can obtain the point of reflection of the radar waves which are required for detecting the object.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely discriminate a plurality of targets by a radar device.
      SOLUTION: Transmission signals having three or more kinds of frequencies are outputted from an oscillator 10, and transmission waves are radiated from a transmitting antenna 14 toward a target 100. Reflected waves are received by a receiving antenna 16, and the transmission signal is mixed with a receiving signal by a mixer to generate a beat signal. A signal processing device 24 detects a Doppler frequency signal from the beat signal by FFT and detects a distance to the target 100 by Fourier analysis, by using a complex signal component of the Doppler frequency signal in each channel as a progression. The maximum detection distance is increased by differentiating a frequency difference between the three or more kinds of transmission signals.
