    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel in which high luminous efficiency is obtained by optimizing the width of row electrodes and partial pressure of xenon in a discharge gas, and address discharge can be stabilized by suppressing elevation of voltage of the address discharge. SOLUTION: The plasma display panel is provided with a plurality of row electrode pairs constructed of a pair of row electrodes X1, Y1 which are arranged on a front substrate and are mutually opposed through a discharge gap g1, a dielectric layer 12 covering the row electrode pairs, and a plurality of column electrodes D1 which are arranged on the other substrate side and extend in column direction. A discharge gas containing xenon is filled in the discharge gas, and unit emission regions are respectively formed in a portion where the column electrode and the row electrode pairs cross each other. The width Wx1, Wy1 in the column direction of the row electrodes is established at 150 μm or less and the partial pressure of xenon in the discharge gas is established at 6.67 kPa or more, and a discharge strengthening electrode which extends in row direction with a spacing to the row electrode pairs constituting the unit emission region is installed.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of achieving a desired color temperature.
      SOLUTION: Phosphor layers 5a, 5b and 5c to be excited by ultraviolet rays generated by electric discharge for emission of visible light of red, green and blue colors are formed inside a red color gas discharge tube 1a, a green color gas discharge tube 1b and a blue color gas discharge tube 1c, respectively. The phosphor layer 5c has a height Yc greater than heights Ya, Yb of the phosphor layers 5a, 5b, and a relationship of Yc>Ya=Yb is satisfied. The opposing distance of the phosphor layer 5c to a discharge surface (a sustain electrode 31) is therefore shorter than the opposing distance of each of the phosphor layers 5a, 5b to the discharge surface. Consequently, the emission brightness of the phosphor layer 5c relatively increases and the visible light emitted from the display device 10 thereby shifts to the blue color side, or in other words, the color temperature rises.

In order to demarcate the unit light-emitting regions between the substrates, barrier ribs 15 of lattice shape consisting of vertical wall parts 15B extending in column direction and horizontal wall parts 15A extending in row direction are formed, and the height of the horizontal wall parts is lower than that of the vertical wall parts.
