    • PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a magnet for recording and to allow the formation of a compact magneto-optical recording device by providing an auxiliary recording layer which is a 3rd layer and a bias layer which is a 4th layer by devising the magnetic characteristics of these layers. CONSTITUTION:This magneto-optical recording medium consists of a memory layer 21 which is a 1st layer, a recording layer 22 which is a 2nd layer, the auxiliary recording layer 23 which is the 3rd layer, and the bias layer 24 which is the 4th layer. The 1st, 2nd and 4th layers are formed as the perpendicularly magnetized films having the magnetic anisotropy perpendicular to the film plane. The 3rd layer is formed as the magnetic film having the magnetic anisotropy smaller than the magnetic anisotropy of the 2nd and 4th layers. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd layers are formed as the magnetic films having or without having a compensation temp. below room temp. and the 4th layer is formed as the magnetic film having a compensation temp. above room temp. The 3rd layer and the 4th layer are so formed that strong exchange bonding strength does not act between these layers. The following relations are maintained between the coercive force of the respective layers and Curie temp.: HC21>HC22, HC23>HC24, TC21

    • PURPOSE:To automatically, correctly and early detect the abnormality of image information by comparing the read image information with the standard image information so that the abnormal picture element is detected, and weighting and totaling the number adjoining abnormal picture elements in the block. CONSTITUTION:A reading means 9 reads the image information by photoelectrically converting the stimulated luminous light from the stimulable phospher and A/D-converting an electric signal. A first storing means 1 stores the image information read in the standard condition in a picture element unit. In addition, a second storing means 2 stores the image information to be mea sured read by the reading means 9 similarly to the standard condition in a picture element unit, and a detecting means 3 compares the image information to be measured of the second storing means 2 with the image information of the first storing means 1 and detects the abnormal picture element. Then, a totaling means 4 weights and totals the number of the abnormal picture elements adjoining abnormal picture elements in the block detected by the detecting means so that the abnormality of image information can be automatically esti mated. Therefore, the abnormality of image display can be automatically, cor rectly and early detected.
