    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper size detection device capable of precisely detecting paper size even when a shock is applied on a tray.
      SOLUTION: A gear 18 with a cam turns centered on a support point 17 in accordance with a travel position of a paper feeding direction paper guide moving in the direction 12 of paper feeding along a cam channel and a slit 13, and movable plates 101 move in the same direction by a tooth 102 provided at its one end. A plurality of detection switches 106 are arranged at positions opposing to the movable plates 101 to detect paper size by changing on/off patterns of them. The paper feeding direction paper guide 15 is securely fixed to a desired position by a grip 131 using a spring to prevent the occurrence of error for a shock. A stepwise shape of the cam channel 22 serves also for preventing the occurrence of an error in the direction 12 of paper feeding.

    • PURPOSE:To make a device small as a whole and to enhance operating properties and safety, by providing a paper holder for holding a paper without the possibility of slipping. CONSTITUTION:On a paper path in the vicinity of a paper discharge port 28, a flat board 30 disposed substantially in parallel to a paper discharge direction, a holding roller 32 abutting on the upper part of the flat board 30, and an auxiliary roller 34 abutting on the lower part of the flat board 30 are provided. A paper 35 fed by a paper feed means 29 is led to between the holding roller 32 and the auxiliary roller 34, thereafter being fed downward once by the auxiliary roller 34. After a trailing edge 36a of the paper reaches between the holding roller 32 and the auxiliary roller 34, the auxiliary roller 34 is reversely rotated. At the same time as the trailing edge 36a of the paper 36 reaches the abutting part of the holding roller 32 and the flat board 30, the holding roller 32 is sightly rotated, and the trailing edge 36a of the paper 36 is held between the flat board 30 and the holding roller 32.
