CONSTITUTION:A medium material for electrophoresis which includes a medium layer for electrophoresis made of a polyacrylamide-based water gel produced by crosslinked polymerization of an acrylamide-based compound and a cross linking agent in the presence of water and containing a compound having a carbamoyl group as the modifying agent, and a resin support is provided with a resin intermediate layer made of a resin material with the oxygen transmission coefficient lower than the support material between the medium layer for electrophoresis and the support layer. The resin intermediate layer is preferably made of a resin material with the oxygen transmission of below 15cc/m .atm per day in the form of a film formed at a thickness of 20mum. The resin material herein applicable is a vinylidene chloride-vinyl chloride copolymer or the like.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the whitening of a glass substrate and to improve the aging stability of a recording medium by forming a protective layer contg. an ultraviolet-curing resin on one side of the substrate having a recording layer on the other side. CONSTITUTION:The whitening of a surface of a glass substrate is remarkably reduced or prevented by forming a protective layer contg. an ultraviolet-curing resin on the surface of the substrate, and the aging stability of an information recording medium is improved. Alkali ions depositing on the surface of the glass substrate with the lapse of time are effectively diffused and captured in the protective layer to prevent the surface of the substrate from getting cloudy. Accordingly, the aging stability of the recording medium is improved, and especially when the writing and reading of information are carried out from the substrate side, reduction in the sensitivity and S/N can be prevented. Since the ultraviolet-curing resin in the protective layer has high hardness, the protective layer increases the scratch resistance of the recording medium and can prevent damage.
