    • PURPOSE:To facilitate the starting operation by detecting the reverse revolution of the direction of action of a frictional force which acts between a brake frictional member and the frictional surface of a rotary body, when a car is allowed to stop on an ascent by the brake operation. CONSTITUTION:When a brake pedal 12 is stepped-in on an ascent, pressurized liquid is supplied into each wheel cylinder 2 of front wheels 14 and rear wheels 20 from a master cylinder 11, and shoes 4a and 4b are spread and press-attach onto a rotary body 5, and brake is applied. When a car stops, the turning moment in the opposite direction is applied onto the rotary body 5 which revolves with wheels. Therefore, the brake reaction force applied to the shoe 4b on the trailing side increases, and a slidable anchor 6 is pushed leftward, and a switch 9 is turned-ON through a rod 8. Therefore, a solenoid valve 8 is switched to the E-position, and the above-described pressurized liquid is held independently of the release of the stepping-in force of the brake pedal 12, and the car maintains the stop state.

    • PURPOSE:To reducce moving of chassis due to braking when backing by performing pressure reduction control of front wheel side brake when backing, while never reducing the pressure of the same when advancing. CONSTITUTION:Upon stepping of brake pedal under advancing, the liquid pressure in master cylinder is fed through a contact hole 10, a chamber 77, a hole 29 in main piston, a stepped hole 30 in axial direction, a hole 28 and a connection hole 11 to the wheel cylinder of front wheel thus to function the front wheel brake. Said liquid pressure is also transmitted through a path 52, a valve system 76, a through-hole 45 of control piston and a path 53 into the control pressure chamber 27. Consequently, main piston 20 will never move even upon pressure rise, thus to never execute pressure reduction control. While when backing, coil 37 is excited to close the valve system 76. Since the liquid pressure in master cylinder is never fed into the control pressure chamber 27, main piston 20 will move to the left upon pressure rise in master cylinder, thus to execute pressure reduction control.
