    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a perpendicular magnetic recording medium with small noises caused by the medium generated when reproducing a record and suitable for high recording density. SOLUTION: In the perpendicular magnetic recording medium comprising of at least a soft magnetic backing layer, an intermediate layer, a magnetic recording layer, a protection layer, and a liquid lubricant layer sequentially laminated on a non magnetic substrate, the above magnetic recording layer is comprised of rare-earth transition alloyed metal amorphous films, the rare- earth transition alloyed metal amorphous film has a fine column structure, boundary parts exist around these columns, the composition of the boundary parts are the vicinity of composition of compensation points of the rare-earth transition alloyed metal amorphous films, and the composition in the above columns is lower than the composition of above boundary part in terms of the density of rare-earth elements and higher than the composition of above boundary parts in terms of the density of the transition metal elements, in performing perpendicular magnetic recording, the magnetization is fixed as the above boundary part is a compensation point composition, and the above boundary part function as a magnetic wall fixing part of a recording signal.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a process for production of the thin-film magnetic head capable of enhancing the bondability between bonding pad parts and lead wires of the thin-film de magnetic head and preventing the peeling, etc., of the lead wires. CONSTITUTION:Org. protective films 40 are formed on electrode pad parts 8, 15 in the final stage of a wafer process after the formation of the bonding pad parts 8 for a magneto-resistance effect element and the bonding pad parts 15 for a magnetic induction element. A bonding stage is conducted after water cutting and guiding stages and since the surfaces of the electrode pad parts 8, 15 are coated with the org. protective films 40, the surfaces of the pad parts 8, 15 are kept free from contamination during a machining stage. The org. protective films 40 are removed by an org. solvent just prior to the bonding stage and thereafter, the lead wires are bonded to these clean surfaces. Since the pad surfaces are not deposited with dirt, etc., the bondability of the lead wires is good and the generation of the defects, such as peeling of the lead wires, is obviated.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain excellent photosensitivity and reliability by using specific ceramics having proper values of heat resistance, coefft. of thermal diffusion and refractive index as a protective layer. CONSTITUTION:On the substrate 21, a first protective layer 22, medium layer 23, second protective layer 24 and a surface protective layer 25 are formed. The first and second protective layers 22, 24 are composed of such ceramics having a composition of (SiOx)1-y(Z)y, wherein Z is one of Cu, Al, Ti, Pt, Cr, Fe, Nd, Sm and Dy. By this constitution, the refractive indices and coeffts. of thermal diffusion of the protective layers 22, 24 become proper to increase the light absorptivity of the medium layer 23 in the optical recording medium. The energy of light can be effectively used for heating the medium layer 23 and the thermal diffusion of energy can be prevented. Thus, recording/erasing of informations can be performed with smaller laser power, while the reliability of the medium is improved.

    • PURPOSE:To reproduce/display a still picture, to decrease a setting space, and to improve the convenience of the handling and custody of a recording medium by utilizing an optical memory card as the recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A picture information reproducing means 2, which provides an optical head to optically read picture information from an optical memory card 1 to have recorded the still picture information, and a picture display means 4 which displays the still picture are possessed, and the picture information reproducing means 2 has a sending mechanism to relatively scan a straight line track for the optical memory card loaded with the optical head. That is, the optical head relatively scans a straight line track 1a of the optical memory card 1 by the operation of the sending mechanism, and by the track scanning, the still picture from the optical memory card 1 is reproduced. Thus the still picture from the optical memory card can be reproduced, the still picture can be easily selected, a device constitution is made compact, and the convenience, etc., of the handling/custody of the recording medium can be exerted.
