    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture efficiently SnO
      2 having noble metal nanoparticles carried thereon.
      SOLUTION: A chelate compound equipped with at least two ligands coordinated into SnO
      2 and at least two ligands coordinated into a noble metal is added to hydrosol of SnO
      2 , to thereby coordinate the chelate compound into SnO
      2 sol, wherein noble metal nanoparticles in which an organic compound is coordinated are dispersed in an organic dispersant is brought into contact with the hydrosol of SnO
      2 in which the chelate compound is coordinated, to thereby coordinate the chelate compound into the noble metal nanoparticles; thereby the noble metal nanoparticles are carried on SnO
      2 particles in the sol; and the calcination is performed to acquire an SnO
      2 gas sensor. The noble metal nanoparticles can be carried efficiently on SnO
      2 .

      SOLUTION: An organic compound of tin is dissolved together with a surfactant in an organic solvent, and heated to thermally decompose the organic compound of tin. This causes the surfactant to be adsorbed or coordinated to the surface of the SnO
      2 nano crystal to disperse the SnO
      2 nano crystal in the organic solvent while preventing its crystal growth in firing, thereby providing the gas sensor highly sensitive to VOC.
