摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a graphitic material for metal plating and a graphitic member coated with a metal plating in which sealing treatment of the graphitic material forming a substrate is certainly carried out and generation of rust on the metal plating layer formed on the surface thereof is suppressed. SOLUTION: This graphitic material is obtained by impregnating the pore on the surface thereof with an acrylic monomer and polymerizing the acrylic monomer in the pore and curing to a gel state to seal the pore on the surface thereof by heating to 90-120 deg.C. The graphitic member is obtained by coating the surface thereof with the metal plating.

In thermogravimetry(TG) of the graphite coated with amorphous carbon, when a temperature is increased at a rate of temperature increase of 20 deg.C/min in an air current of 200 ml/min, a starting temperature of weight decrease of a first stage is 350 to 600 deg.C, and the amount of the weight decrease of t he first stage is 3 to 20% of a weight before the temperature increasing.

The carbon and tungsten particle contents of the layer 4 are in nearly inverse proportion to each other from the carbon substrate having 100% carbon content under the surface layer part 2 toward the tungsten layer 3 having 100% tungsten content. The tungsten particles in the surface layer part 2 form tungsten carbide films on the surfaces by reaction with carbon and the films act as a binder to tightly bond the tungsten and carbon particles.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently obtain highly pure monolayered nanotubes by subjecting a carbon raw material containing the monolayered nanotubes to an impact treatment using polar solvent molecules and subsequently separating and purifying the mono-layered nanotubes. SOLUTION: This method for separating and purifying monolayered nanotubes comprises dispersing a carbon raw material containing the monolayered nanotubes in a small amount of a polar solvent, mixing the dispersion with distilled water, heating the mixture in a refluxing device, refluxing the polar solvent molecules, simultaneously subjecting the raw material containing the nanotubes to an impact treatment using the solvent molecules, pouring the refluxed dispersion into a sieve having relatively rough meshes to separate the monolayered nanotubes, uniformly heating the separated monolayerd nanotubes in air heated at approximately 470 deg.C, immersing the heated nanotubes in an acidic solution for approximately 12hr and subsequently subjecting the purified monolayered nanotubes having a purity of approximately 95% to an ultrasonic cleaning treatment.
