    • PURPOSE:To improve the accelerating voltage of a superconductive accelerating cavity by making the axial electric field strength in the cavity to be lowest in the accelerating cavity at the intake of radio wave and increased gradually toward the outlet and highest in the accelerating cavity at the outlet of radio wave. CONSTITUTION:In a travelling wave type accelerating cavity the electric field is excited successively from the intake toward the outlet of radio wave, so the electric field is increased earliest at the intake and later toward the outlet. The exciting period is longest at the intake portion, so if the electric field is made uniform all over the cavity the field strength at the intake portion is built up to a high level by the time of completion of the excitation of whole accelerating cavity, and the accelerating voltage of whole cavity is determined depending upon the field strength at the intake portion. Therefore by distributing the electric field strength in the accelerating cavity so as to increase gradually from the intake toward the outlet, the accelerating voltage can be increased substantially. In order to make the accelerating electric field higher and higher toward the end portion, it is adequate to make type group velocity of the electric field smaller and smaller toward the end portion. Thereby the accelerating voltage of the superconductive accelerating cavity can be improved or the length of the accelerating cavity can be shortened.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to maintain a hollow in a superconductive condition by forming clearances of V-shape section at the outer side of the parts of plural positions of a cylinder in the axial direction wrung in the radius direction, and providing plural reinforcement supports to connect cells neighboring with the clearances in the axial direction. CONSTITUTION:Four positions in the axial direction of a niobium cylinder are contracted in the radius direction, and at the outside of the contracted parts, clearances 1 with almost V-shape section are formed in the circumferential direction, while four disks 3 forming a small hole 2 respectively are formed at the center of the inner side. Furthermore, at the center of both end surfaces of the cylinder, cylindrical small holes 4 are formed, and a superconductive hollow resonator 6 in the form to provide five cells 5 in the axial direction is formed. Then, four reinforcement supports 7 to connect the cells 5 neighboring with the circumference of the clearances 1 are arranged. By providing the reinforcement supports 7, minute deformations of the hollow resonator 6 are almost eliminated. By such a constitution, no tuning device and no feedback mechanism are required, and, since the heat invasion from the outside to destroy the superconductive condition is almost eliminated, a stable superconductive condition can be maintained.
