Since the second carbon film 52 including hydrogen under 20% and having excellent adhessivity to the lubrication agent is stacked on the first carbon film 51 including hydrogen of 20% or more and having excellent mechanical characteristic, a magnetic recording medium having excellent mechanical characteristics, excellent durability and adhessivity to the lubrication agent and long duration of lubrication effect can be realized.
