The main controller 50, UI controller 80, printer controller 70, and scan controller 60 are connected in a daisy chain in described order by using Thunderbolt(R) interfaces (controller and cable).

      SOLUTION: An internal RAM 122 of a buffering mechanism 12 has a plurality of areas corresponding to the real addresses of a memory being the data transfer destination of image data, and can simultaneously execute writing into each area by a write control circuit 121 and reading therefrom by a read control circuit 124. The write control circuit 121, when writing the image data into the internal RAM 122, writes so that the address in the internal RAM 122 will correspond to the real address of the memory being the transfer destination of the image data.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out an overlap removal process without increasing an intermediate code generation time in an image processing apparatus which processes images with the use of a band buffer technique.
      SOLUTION: An intermediate code-generating part 10 converts for every band, data of each of objects included in a PDL showing a source image to an intermediate code and lets the code held by an intermediate code-holding part 20. When an integrated data amount of the intermediate codes held by the intermediate code-holding part 20 exceeds a predetermined amount, a rendering part 40 generates processed raster data having overlapping parts of objects removed and stores the data to a band buffer 50. Then, for bands of parts developed to the processed raster data, the intermediate codes held by the intermediate code-holding part 20 of objects excluding the objects developed to the processed raster data are read out, and the processed raster data stored into the band buffer 50 are read out, thereby generating band raster data.
