    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging element which has high sensitivity and high resolution, generates no shading has high photoelectric conversion efficiency, and is excellent in stability when repeatedy used.
      SOLUTION: In a multilayer lamination multi-pixel imaging element, the imaging element has a pixel unit which is constituted at least of: a plurality of electromagnetic wave absorption layers which absorb electromagnetic waves of different wavelength and perform photoelectric conversion; a pair of electrodes by which each of the electromagnetic wave absorption layers is pinched; a charge transmission/charge read-out portion; and a plurality of contact part positions which link at least one of a pair of the electrodes and the charge transmission/charge read-out portion. Out of the electrodes which were arranged in the pixel unit, length between the outermost surfaces of the electrodes of both of outermost sides is smaller than a pixel size.

    • PURPOSE:To suppress the reduction of the intrinsic sensitivity of an emulsion layer due to a dye and to increase the spectral sensitivity by incorporating a spectral sensitizing dye which is selectively adsorbed on (100) faces rather than (111) faces into the emulsion layer so that a latent image is preferentially formed on faces other than the (111) faces of specified normal crystal particles. CONSTITUTION:Silver halide particles which are practically normal crystals consisting essentially of (111) and (100) faces are used as >=50% of the total projection area of all of silver halide particles in a silver halide emulsion layer and the (111) faces of normal crystal particles are allowed to account for >=40% of the surfaces of the used particles. In the emulsion layer, >=60% of the number of the normal crystal particles have been spectrally sensitized with a sensitizing dye which is selectively adsorbed on (100) faces rather than (111) faces so that a latent image is preferentially formed on faces other than the (111) faces. Thus, a silver halide sensitive material contg. a silver halide emulsion suppressing the reduction of the intrinsic sensitivity due to a dye and having high sensitivity can be obtd.
