    • PURPOSE:To improve resistance to pressure fog and pressure desensitization by specifying the structure and prepn. of flakelike silver halide particles as a constituent. CONSTITUTION:Flakelike silver halide particles having >=0.4mum diameter, >=2 average aspect ratio and a practically laminar structure in a direction horizontal to two opposite principal faces are used by >=50% of the projection area of all the silver halide particles in an emulsion. Adjacent layers of the laminar structure are made different from each other in average halogen compsn. by at least 1mol%. Previously prepd. silver halide particles (B) are added to a reactor, where nuclei of the flakelike silver halide particles (A) are formed and crystals are grown. A dispersive medium for the silver halide particles B may be gelatin having low mol. wt. or a synthetic high molecular compd. acting as protective colloid for silver halide particles. High sensitivity and low fog are attained and resistance to pressure fog and pressure desensitization are improved.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the increase of a fog with age and the deterioration of sensitivity and graininess by composing a silver halide particle which is contained in at least one layer of emulsion layers and is subjected to a chemical sensitization of a specified tabular silver halide particle. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive material comprises each of a blue, a green and a red sensitive silver halide emulsion layers, and at least one layer of the emulsion layers is composed of two or more layers having different sensitivities with each other. In this case, the tabular silver halide particle which has a projected area equivalent diameter of >=0.4mum and a mean aspect ratio of >=2, occupies >=50% of the projected area of the total silver halide particle contd. in the emulsion layer. The silver halide particle has a layer structure which is divided with a substantially parallel surface against two countering main surfaces, and is composed of the tabular silver halide particle in which the main iodide content contd. in the outermost layer of the particle is higher than the mean iodide content of the total silver halide particle by >=1mol.%. Thus, the increase of the fog with age, and the deterioration of the graininess and the sensitivity of the photosensitive material are improved.

    • PURPOSE:To obviate the increase in fogging and the deterioration of granular characteristics by aging after production by forming the chemically sensitized silver halide particles incorporated in one emulsion in emulsion layers in such a manner as to satisfy specific conditions. CONSTITUTION:Over 50% of the projection area of the total silver halide particles in the emulsion layers consist of the planar silver halide particles having >=0.4mum circular diameter corresponding to the projection area and >=2 average aspect ratio. Said silver halide particles are the planar silver halide particles which have the laminar structure segmented by the plane substantially parallel with the two main planes facing each other and in which the average iodine content of the outermost layer is higher by at least >=1mol% than the average iodine content over the entire part of the silver halide particles. Further, a compd. which can release a development accelerator or fogging agent by reaction with the oxidant of a color developing agent is incorporated into the silver halide color photographic sensitive material. The increase of the fogging and the deterioration of the granular characteristic by the aging after the production are thereby prevented.
