    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transfer surely a vivid print-image on a tentatively transferred body onto a transferred body as it is by forming a vivid print-image on a smooth water soluble substance layer of a tentatively transferred body, after that, thermal bonding this onto the body to be transferred by means of a heat presser or the like, and thereafter dissolving the water soluble substance layer. SOLUTION: In forming a vivid print-image A on all kinds of transferred bodies 20 regardless of qualities, configurations, or the like of surface roughness, rigidity, or the like of a transferred body 20, the vivid print-image A is formed at first by means of a thermal printer on the surface of a water soluble substance layer 12 of a tentatively transferred body 10 with a smooth surface of the water soluble substance layer 12. In the next place, the tentatively transferred body 10 having the print-image A and the body 20 are superimposed each other in such a manner that the print-image A on the transferred body 10 is thermally bonded positively on the transferred body 20 through the agency of heat and pressure by means of a thermal press or the like. Subsequently, an integrated matter of the transferred body 10 and transferred body 20 are immersed in water in order that the water soluble substance layer 12 is dissolved or swelled, thereby positively transferring the vivid print-image A of the transferred body 10 on the transferred body 20.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent a lowering in resistance or releasing of a resistor layer from occurring, by using a polyvinyl butyral resin as a binder for the resistor layer, and interposing an undercoat layer between the resistor layer and the base film so as to improve the adhesion between the resistor layer and the base film. CONSTITUTION:An electrothermal transfer recording medium comprises a resistor layer on one side of a base film, and a thermal transfer ink layer on the other side. In the recording medium, the resistor layer comprises a binder, comprising a polyvinyl butyral resin as a main constituent, and a conductive powder such as carbon black, and an undercoat layer having favorable adhesives is provided between the resistor layer and the base film. A polyester resin, a coupling agent (e.g., alkoxysilane) or the like is used as a main constituent of the undercoat layer. This ensures that the content of the conductive powder such as carbon black can be increased, and the powder can be dispersed favorably. Therefore, the resistance of the resistor layer can be set to a lower value of not more than 2kOMEGA/cm, and the problems such as releasing of the resistor layer at the time of recording will not occur.
