摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a water base pigment ink for ink-jet recording which can obtain a sufficient image (printing) density against medium to be printed and excels in color developability, printing reliability, water resistance, light- resistance, and long-term shelf stability. SOLUTION: A self-dispersion type carbon black is used as the carbon black pigment dispersion, and a butyl glycol and a pyrrolidone are used together as the water-soluble organic solvent. Particularly, it is preferred to use both diethylene glycol monobutyl ether as the butyl glycol and N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone and 2-pyrrolidone as the pyrrolidone. In this instance, it is preferred that the content of diethylene glycol monobutyl ether in the water base pigment ink for ink-jet recording is 1-10 mass %; the content of N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone is 5-15 mass %; and the content of 2-pyrrolidone is 10-30 mass %.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording ink which can dispense with a head protector, has excellent characteristics of recording on plain paper and has stable delivery characteristics. SOLUTION: This ink is prepared by mixing a water-soluble dye with a main solvent for the dye, comprising 9-30 wt.% purified water and 48-80 wt.% dimethyl sulfoxide being a high-boiling very highly hygroscopic water-soluble solvent and 4.5-16 wt.% 1,3-dimethyl-2-imidazolidinone being a high-boiling water-soluble organic solvent having the action of stabilizing the dissolution of the dye and the action of imparting penetrability into plain paper and diethylene glycol being a high-boiling water-soluble organic solvent as a modifier for the surface tension and viscosity of ink. The synergistic action among the dimethyl sulfoxide and the 1,3-dimethyl-2-imidazolidinone and the diethylene glycol and realize an ink jet recording ink which can dispense with a head protector.

When a content rate of the block polymer is in a range of 0.5-7 weight %, it is possible to obtain the ink-repellent film having a superior ink repellence of which contact angle to ink with a low surface tension is not less than 85 deg. and a superior abrasion resistance wherein the number of times of wiping for starting peeling is not less than 10,000.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an ink jet recording head excellent in surface state and durability in which an ink repellent film for suppressing intrusion of ink into a nozzle can be formed while shortening the gas blowing time. SOLUTION: A material resin for ink repellent film is dissolved into at least two kinds of solvent having different evaporation rate to produce a resin solution which is then applied to the nozzle surface while blowing gas from the nozzle. Subsequently, it is dried and baked onto the nozzle surface by heat treatment to form an ink repellent film. Since at least two kinds of solvent having different evaporation rate is employed, drying time can be shortened while ensuring film characteristics.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deterioration of the physical properties of ink by suppressing the generation of fungi and bacteria during use or long-term storage without adding an expensive antifungal sterilizing agent to ink. SOLUTION: An ink cartridge 6 consists of a container case 7 integrally molded along with a lower protruding part (supply port), the lid 8 for the supply port, a seal member 9, a filter 10, an electrode pin 11, sponge 12 and a lid 13. The sponge 12 is the flexible porous material housed in the internal space of the container case 7 to hold ink. A material containing copper 8-oxyquinoline is used in either one of the container case 7 and the sponge 12. By this constitution, aceptic action and sterilizing action are provided to the ink being in contact with the container case 7 or the sponge 12 to prevent the generation of fungi or various bacteria within ink.
