    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To desalinate salt-containing water, such as seawater, in a desalination device by efficiently evaporating the water by using sunlight, which is natural energy, and efficiently condensing the vapor flow.
      SOLUTION: In a desalination device for water containing salts and the like, the inside of a closed structure is partitioned so as to communicate at the upper parts, one partitioned section is formed as an evaporation chamber 2 having the inflow port of the salt-containing water and the discharge port of the evaporated and concentrated salts-containing water, and the other partitioned section is formed as a condensation chamber 3 having the drawing port of condensed water. The upper surface and front surface of the evaporation chamber are made of a sunlight-transmitting member 5. Fins 8 and/or a cooling water channel 15 are installed on the exterior surface for increasing condensation effect.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for efficiently desalinating water containing salts and the like at a low cost using a simple structure and solar heat, and a floating porous carrier used for the device.
      SOLUTION: A dome-shaped closed container 2 is installed on the surface of the water 1 containing salts and the like so as to close the water surface. Floating porous carriers 3 are floated on the water surface closed by the dome-shaped closed container 2, and are moved by wave power to form thin films of the water containing salts and the like on the surface and in the inside of each carrier 3. Evaporated and condensed water in the dome-shaped closed container 2 is recovered along the inner wall of the closed container 3. It is desirable that the upper part of the dome-shaped closed container 2 has a moderate slant so that the evaporated water convects and the condensed water is introduced into a condensed water recovery tank 4 at the edge of the closed tank 3.
