    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for evaluating a protein-degrading ability in an environmental sample. SOLUTION: This method for evaluating a protein-degrading ability in an environmental sample, comprising measuring a protein-degrading bacterium by a quantitative PCR method using the following primer set. (a) An oligonucleotide having the first specific base sequence or its substantially homologous base sequence, and an oligonucleotide having the second specific base sequence or its substantially homologous base sequence.
