    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for a closure section which can absorb a mounting tolerance having occurred between lining elements to be closed while ensuring the same structural strength as that exhibited when a conventional loop reinforcement cage is used, to thereby improve construction efficiency, and to provide a method for closing the lining elements.
      SOLUTION: According to the structure, the closure section 20 for closing an interval between the two lining elements 3a, 3b to be closed, which are opposed to each other and inserted into the natural ground, is formed of joint plates 24a, 24b and a plurality of tension members 25. Each of the joint plates 24a, 24b has a joint 26 along its lengthwise direction, which joint 26 engages with a joint 9 exposed to a closed space 23 formed in the natural ground at a location between both the lining elements 3a, 3b to be closed. The tension members 25 are arranged between both the mutually opposed joint plates 24a, 24b at predetermined intervals.
