    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably open and close respective overflowing barrage by a relatively simple mechanism and remove scum in a plurality of sedimentation basins by a single driving apparatus by installing an endless running body which endlessly runs above respective opening and closing levers and is provided with strikers which push down opening and closing levers when the strikers come to the position above the levers. SOLUTION: Two strikers 14 are attached to an endless rope 10 in freely detachable manner and the striker 14 are successively brought into contact with and slid on respective opening and closing levers 5 to push down the levers. For example, when a striker 14 reaches a position above a sedimentation basin 1c, the striker 14 pushes down an opening and closing lever 5 which opens and closes an overflowing barrage 3 of the sedimentation basin 1c to open the overflowing barrage 3. When the striker 14 is parted from the lever 5 due to the running of the endless rope 10, the overflowing barrage 3 is closed due to its buoyancy and the opening and closing level 5 is turned to the state as it was. Further, the endless lope 10 runs and the striker reaches a position above a sedimentation basin 1d, the striker pushes down an opening and closing lever 5 which opens and closes an overflowing barrage 3 of the basin 1d to open the overflowing barrage 3 and when the rope runs further, the overflowing barrage 3 is closed.

Further, on the upper face of the support plates 33, a gap S which extends obliquely through the end parts of the rail 10 at the joint of the rail 10, is disposed in such way that the gap S spans over both support plates 33 across the gap S itself. The end parts of the rail 10 are fixed to the support plates 33 by driving a tapping screw 36 into each of the support plates 33 from above.

A gate roller 12 is attached to one side of the gate 5 fitted with the float. When the striker 9 is raised by the roller of a flight 2, the arm 8 is revolved to push down the push-down plate 11. By this constitution, the gate 5 fitted with the float is sunk under the surface of the water to discharge scum.

Thereby, the drive shaft is composed of a resin molded product 40 which is excellent in making lightweight (very little by comparing about 1.04 specific gravity with about 1.8 specific gravity of FRP) and corrosion resistance, and a metal-made core material is buried integrally inside. Besides, by burying a metal-made core material 42 integrally inside, sufficient strength can be obtained. Further, sufficient sliding property (self lubrication) and abrasion resistance come to be provided.
