摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery management apparatus that can keep individual batteries of a vehicle battery at the same voltage level in a simple and effective manner.
SOLUTION: The vehicle battery 10 includes a plurality of batteries 11, 12, 13, 14 connected in series. The battery management apparatus includes a device 18 that can measure the battery voltage of each of the batteries 11, 12, 13, 14 of the vehicle battery 10. The battery management apparatus compares the measured battery voltages of the batteries 11, 12, 13, 14. When the battery voltage of at least one battery is larger than a first limit value and the battery voltage of at least one battery exceeds a specific second limit value and differs from that of the other battery or that of each of the other batteries, the battery management apparatus uses the lowest battery voltage as a reference voltage and discharges the other battery or each of the other batteries that have a battery voltage higher than the reference voltage to balance the battery voltages among the batteries at the reference voltage.
