    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rayon fiber capable of preventing the reduction of a fiber strength by the oxidation of a fatty acid or a salt thereof by imparting antioxidant properties to the fatty acid or a salt thereof, and to provide a method for producing the rayon fiber.
      SOLUTION: The rayon fiber is obtained by mixing the fatty acid or the salt thereof in the rayon fiber so that the cellulose and the fatty acid or the salt thereof in the rayon fiber may be in a noncompatible state, the fatty acid or the salt thereof may form cell-shaped regions by being finely dispersed, and a lipophilic antioxidant may be contained in the fatty acid or the salt thereof. The method for producing the rayon fiber includes mixing a solution containing the fatty acid or the salt thereof with the lipophilic antioxidant, preparing an emulsion containing the fatty acid or the salt thereof, and the lipophilic antioxidant, and having an average particle diameter of 0.3-10 μm, preparing an added viscose liquid by adding the emulsion to a viscose dope containing the cellulose, and extruding the added viscose liquid from a nozzle to spin, coagulate and regenerate the fiber.

The method for producing the rayon fiber includes the following steps: an aqueous solution containing the fatty acid is admixed with the functionalizing agent to prepare a mixed solution; Cellulose-containing viscose dope is admixed with the above-obtained mixed solution to prepare viscose dope, which is then extruded via nozzles and spun followed by coagulating and regenerating the resultant spun rayon fiber.
