      SOLUTION: The environment improving material contains charcoal and ferrite and can be used as a product containing charcoal and ferrite. The structure for improving the environment is characterized in that the environment improving material is arranged to improve the peripheral environment. The method for improving the peripheral environment comprises the steps of: charging the environment improving material and water into a hole bored in the ground; further charging at least one selected from the group consisting of natural salt, crystal, shawl tourmaline, Mitate conglomerate, black silica, apatite and granite porphyry into the hole; and filling up the resulting hole with soil.

      SOLUTION: The method for producing activated charcoal includes: a low temperature carbonization stage where wood chips are heat-treated at 450 to 550°C, so as to be carbonized; a high temperature carbonization stage where, succeedingly to the low temperature carbonization stage, the carbonized material of the wood chips is heat-treated at 800 to 900°C for 480 to 960 s, and is further carbonized; and an activation stage where, upon the end of the high temperature carbonization stage, the carbonized material is brought into contact with water, thus its functions such as adsorptivity are improved, and further, the respective excellent characteristics of the low temperature carbonized part and the high temperature carbonized part can be synergistically exhibited.
