    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely secure the contact of a feeding chip with a welding wire even if the inner surface of a feeding hole is worn by the feeding of the welding wire in an arc welding apparatus in which the wire extension of the welding wire is held longer by providing a ceramic insulating guide at the tip end side of the feeding chip.
      SOLUTION: In the arc welding apparatus 12 provided with a welding torch body 10, the feeding chip 14, the ceramic-made insulating guide 30 and a metal guide 24 for holding the insulating guide 30 in the inside, and performing the welding by generating the arc A between the tip end part of the welding wire W and a base material 34 to be welded, the portion at the tip end side of the feeding chip 14 is equally divided into two in the right angle direction to the axis, and divided into a fixed side divided piece 44 in the unity with the main body 14A of the feeding chip 14 and a movable side divided piece 46 of a separated body separated from the main body 14A. Then, the respective divided pieces 44, 46 are resiliently combined with a leaf spring 48 for fitting the respective divided pieces 44, 46 on the outer peripheral surfaces so as to interpose the welding wire W on the inner surface of the feeding hole 38 for these divided pieces 44, 46.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a high-quality wire at high efficiency and also to make of measurement and adjustment of a roll gap simple and easy by improving the accuracy of the measurement and adjustment. SOLUTION: By inserting a dummy material B1 instead of a material A1 to be rolled into the roll caliber 161c formed between rolls 101a and 101b and measuring and adjusting the roll gap L1 in the state where the dummy material is compressively deformed between the rolls, simulation state which is approximately similar to the state actually feeding the material A1 to be rolled between a pair of rolls and performing rolling is realized. In this simulation state, clearance such as play which a roll driving mechanism has is filled up by the press- contacting force of the roll caliber 161c and play is suppressed. Then, by the compressive deformation of the dummy material B1, the roll gap L1 can be measured and adjusted in the state which is approximately made to coincide with the ordinary state of wire rolling, so the accuracy of the measurement and adjustment is improved, the generation of torsion during rolling is prevented and the metallic wire having high finished accuracy and high quality after rolling is manufactured at high efficiency.
