The internal surface of the bodies 11a and 11b is formed to be elliptical with a minor axis intersecting the hinge sections 12a and 12b. Also, the sections 12a and 12b are constituted of a stainless steel material 12d having a groove 12c similar to the bodies 11a and 11b, and a copper plate 12e fastened thereto at the side adjacent to the bodies 11a and 11b. Furthermore, a gas blow chamber 16 is laid at both sides of the bodies 11a and 11b.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which can easily increase the thickness of metallic bars in the specified area along the length without bending them, even for the large diameter and/or heavy weight. SOLUTION: In this device, the first truck 7, which loads the components such as the first guide unit 12 and the second guide unit 13 equipped with the rollers retaining the metallic bar 1, and an induction heating coil 31 for heating the bar 1, is traveled to a desired position and then stopped at the position. At the same time, the bar 1 is compressed at both ends by the first loading compression head 51 built up on a fixed support 50 and the second loading compression head 55 built up on the second moving support truck 54. Successively the bar 1, supported by the first and the second guide unit 12, 13, is heated to increase the thickness in the specified area by moving both the induction heating coil 31 and the second guide unit 13 along the length.
