An inner-binding folding device includes a moving mechanism 138 for moving the paste transfer roller 126 toward a transfer position. The gluing unit 120 is mounted removably on the inner-binding folding device. A feed gear 132 is connected to a feed roller 130 via a one-way clutch, and is connected to a rack gear 136 to transmit a driving force when the gluing unit 120 is mounted on the inner-binding folding device. The rack gear 136 drives the feed roller 130, using a force of moving the paste transfer roller 126 by the moving mechanism 138. The feed roller 130 is driven to feed the paste sheet 121.

      SOLUTION: In this bookbinding device 10B, a stack tray 28 loads the pasted paper. A paste transfer mechanism 13B applies the paste to the paper loaded entirely on the stack tray 28. A pressing unit presses the upper surface of top paper of all the pieces of paper loaded on the stack tray 28 and contact bonds the paste-transferred paper to the paper stacked on the former. The pressing unit presses the upper surface of the top paper of the booklet located at the top level of the booklet tray 28 and avoids the pressing procedure to the upper surface of the top paper of the other booklet.
