    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to save running cost even when amt. of air feeding is increased as the concn. of a waste water increases by feeding oxygen to microorganisms by air emission in an aeration tank wherein the waste water is cleaned by means of organism contacting oxidation method. CONSTITUTION:An aeration tank is constituted of tanks 11, 12...16 being provided in multi-stages and transferring of water between tanks are performed by overflow and an endlessly formed string-like contacting material 20 is circulated and is passed through water in each tank to perform aerobic organism treatment in each tank. Insufficiently treated water in the lowermost tank is returned to the uppermost, tank by means of a pump. In this apparatus, as the surface area of water is large and contact between water and air is sufficiently performed by overflow, an air diffuser is not needed.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce an installation space and to reduce initial cost by integrally constituting an aeration tank and a sedimentation section by providing the sedimentation section to the upper peripheral part of the aeration tank to allow the sedimentation section to communicate with the aeration tank and providing the trough receiving the supernatant water in the sedimentation section. CONSTITUTION:A sedimentation section 8 is arranged to the upper outer periphery of an aeration tank 1 and allowed to communicate with the aeration tank 1 at the lower part thereof through a plate 9 being a distribution plate permitting water to pass such as a perforated plate. This plate 9 plays a role for suppressing the water stream in the aeration tank 1 at the communication part. Further, a trough 10 is provided to the upper part of the sedimentation section 8 and an outflow pipe 11 is provided to the trough 10 and the supernatant water in the sedimentation section 8 flows to the trough 10 to be discharged from the outflow pipe 11. Since the sedimentation section 8 is integrally mounted along with the aeration tank, an installation space can be reduced and initial cost such as installation cost can be reduced to a large extent.

    • PURPOSE:To activate microorganisms so as to allow photosynthesis by constituting the living thing fixing bed to be installed in an aeration tank in such a manner that light arrives down at the lower layer parts while cord-like filter media are mounted to the conventional living thing fixing bed in order to increase the surface area for sticking of the microorganisms but the light, such as sunlight, is received only in the front layer parts. CONSTITUTION:This living thin fixing bed is installed with the cord-like filter media 11 by fixing materials 12 and is installed with optical fiber cables 13 in suitable positions by utilizing the above-mentioned fixing materials, etc., so that even the lower parts of the cord-like filter media are irradiated with the light. The activated sludge microorganisms and the photosynthesizable microorganism adhere to the respective cord-like filter media and the purification effect by these microorganisms is effected. The oxygen in water is increased by the propagation of the photosynthesizable microorganism and the effect of the aerobic activated sludge is additionally accelerated.
