摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of a color filter by which heat resistance of color layers and a black matrix can be largely improved without increasing the cost. SOLUTION: By this method, color layers 7R, 7G, 7B of plural colors and a black matrix 6 intervening between the color layers 7R, 7G, 7B are formed on an insulating transparent substrate 2 to obtain a color filter substrate 1. After the color layers 7R, 7G, 7B and the black matrix 6 are formed, these layers are thermally hardened under conditions of 220-250 deg.C treating temp. and for one or more hours of treating time in a nonoxidative atmosphere.

Further, the second transparent conductive layer 8 for driving the liquid crystal is formed on the color filter layer 5. The layer 4 is a transparent thin layer formed by using a silane coupling agent or surface modifier. As the silane coupling agent, a vinyl silane compound, acrylic silane compound or the like is used. As the surface modifier, a chlorosilane, alkoxysilane or the like is used.

Further, a second transparent conductive layer 7 for driving liquid crystals is formed on these color filter layers 4. The color filter layer 4 forming surface side of the first transparent conductive layer 3 has a surface of which the surface roughness (Rmax) at a measurement length of 10000nm is >=10nm and more preferably 10 to 50nm. As a result, the first transparent conductive layer 3 acts as an anchor link to the color filter layers 4 and the color filter layers 4 are held with sufficient adhesive power onto the first transparent conductive layer 3.

The resin composition for a weather-resistant hard coating layer is preferably an active energy ray-curable resin composition mainly consisting of a polyfunctional urethane acrylate and a monomer with at least 2 functional groups. The resin composition for the primer layer is preferably an acrylic ultraviolet absorbing resin or a resin containing an isocyanate curing agent as a major component.

SOLUTION: This resin is shown by the formula (Z is a hydrophilic side chain containing a cyclic structure; R1 is H or methyl; R2 is a 1-16C hydrocarbon; X and Y are each an alkylene; when (l+m+n+o+p)=100, (l) is 20-90; (m) is 5-40; (n) is 0-50; (o) is 10-80; (p) is 0-40). It is recommended that this resin is obtained, for example, by copolymerization between 20-90 mol of methyl methacrylate, 5-40 mol of a cyclic hydrophilic group-contg. vinyl monomer such as vinylpyrrolidone, 0-50 mol.% of methacrylic acid, and 10-80 mol.% of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate followed by reaction of methacryloyloxyethyl isocyanate with the hydroxyl groups in the resulting copolymer.
