    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To read out a pixel signal for processing an image appropriately from a memory where the pixel signal is stored according to output order in an untouched manner being divided in the arraying order of sensor elements. SOLUTION: Pixel signals for one line acquired by a line sensor where a plurality of line sensors are arranged in the direction of a line are divided into m lines, and the pixel signals output by the line sensor that sequentially outputs a pixel signal with the divided line being set as one unit, are stored in the memory according to the output order. Continuous p pixel signals extracted every p×(m-1) pixels from the pixel signal for one line, are successively arranged on the divided lines respectively. When an X position signal indicating a position in the X direction and a Y position signal indicating a position in the Y direction are generated, an access address signal to the memory is generated by changing a bit arrangement of the X position signal and combining the Y position signal, and a pixel signal is acquired by accessing the memory with the access address signal.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the processing speed of an apparatus by storing pixel data from an image sensor in a memory that allows fast continuous access, such as an SDRAM, irrespective of the number of pixels.
      SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus writes pixel data acquired in a single read by the image sensor in a scan direction to a predetermined size of continuous memory space in the memory capable of fast access. The image processing apparatus has a counter for counting up a value corresponding to the scan direction location of pixels corresponding to the pixel data read from the memory. The image processing apparatus then reconstructs an image from the pixel data read from the memory which is within a range represented by range information representing a range of effective pixels in the scan direction of the image sensor.
