A plurality of tool rests 12A, 12B, 12C are furnished which are arranged movable independently in the first direction perpendicular to the corresponding spindle axis. Therein the spindle tables or tool rests 12A, 12B, 12C are relatively movable independently in the spindle axis direction, and processing spaces 20A, 20B, 20C are provided between the spindle and the tool rest 12A, 12B, 12C mating with the applicable spindle.

CONSTITUTION:At a time of simultaneously carrying out first and second interpolation processes by X1-, Z1-, X2-, Z2-axis feed motors 21-24, a control unit 30 adds speed command signals in the direction of Z1-axis or X1-axis from the interpolation processing circuit 41 and acceleration/deceleration processing circuits 42, 43 of a first control system 40 to speed command signals in the direction of Z2-axis or X2-axis from the interpolation processing circuit 51 and acceleration/deceleration processing circuits 52, 53 of a second control system 50 by means of a superposing circuit 55. The speed command signals of the first and second control systems are controlled by the second control system 50 so that the results of addition may not exceed the maximum feed speed and/or a time constant of the maximum acceleration/deceleration of a controllable tool. Thus, it is possible to exhibit simultaneous interpolation processing function to the maximum extent.

    • PURPOSE:To shorten processing time, by providing a power transmitting means which selects whether a guide bush with a varying hole size, engaged with the hollow part of a rotary shaft, slidably guides or grips a material through the motion of an actuator means. CONSTITUTION:A material 10 is inserted through the rear of a main spindle rest 3 into a guide bush 27, and a piston 37 is pushed by means of a hydraulic cylinder 36. In which case, an opening/closing lever 33 is rocked counterclockwisely, a bobbin 31 is slid rightward, and a lever 30 is rocked leftwardly. A proper gap is provided between the guide bush 27 and the material 10 by means of a regulating screw 28. Thereafter, the piston 37 is operated toward the suction side, the material 10 is gripped by means of the guide bush 27, and the main spindle rest 3 is moved by a distance equivalent to the processing length of a product. The material 10 is gripped by a collet chuck 7, and after the material is released from gripping of the guide bush 27, it is rotated for processing. This device enables decrease of total processing time.

    • PURPOSE:To enable the easy setting of a tool without any use of a tool presetter by providing primary and secondary operation switches for shifting a tool rest automatically to the position where the cutting edge of the tool agrees to be center and the external surface of a rod-shaped raw material. CONSTITUTION:A rod-shaped raw material 14A is drawn backward, a primary operation switch is pressed with a tool 25 dismantled and a tool rest 23 is moved to the position where the tip of the tool 25 agrees to the center of the raw material 14A. And the tool 25 is set, an adjustment screw 23b is so adjusted as to shift an inclined support bed 23a and the tool 25 is slided back and forth thereon for determining the alignment height of the tool 25 visually. Then, a secondary operation switch is pressed and the tool rest 23 is moved to the position where the tip of the tool 25 agrees to the external surface of a raw material 14B. And the tool 25 is slided on the inclined support bed 23a, a cutting edge is pressed to the external surface of the raw material 14B, and a clamp screw 23c is tightened, thereby terminating the setting of the tool 25.
