摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To guarantee a speed difference, so that the surface of a pressure roller is uniformly cleaned and to keep the speed of the pressure roller to not to cause the elongation of an image by driving the pressure roller as a single body or the downstream side of the pressure roller, in a paper passing direction by another motor and pulling it with a fixed paper feeding speed difference with respect to a main motor. SOLUTION: This imaging device is equipped with the main motor for controlling an imaging device driving system, and another motor for driving the pressure roller. When the pressure roller thermally expands, the speed of the motor for driving the pressure roller is controlled by the amount of the expanded outside diameter by a sensor means for detecting the change of the outside diameter of the pressure roller, so that the speed difference between a more upstream side and a more downstream side than the pressure roller is made constant at normal times. The speed difference is set to a value such that the surface of the pressure roller will be cleaned and the elongation of the image will not be caused.

The base material of the heating means is constituted of a hollow metallic member, and an insulating layer, an energizing heating element and an insulating layer are formed on the metallic base plate. A nip line in the width direction of the recording material is not bent and the nip width is uniform, so that image heating in the width direction of the recording material is performed without causing irregularity. The number of parts is reduced, the manufacture and the assembly of the device are easily performed, and the fluctuation of the nip width based on the dispersion of the dimensional accuracy of the parts is prevented.

In such a case, the device 5 is retreated from a process cartridge takeout path while it is linked with the cover 18. Thus, the cartridge B is attached/detached without bypassing the fixing device. Besides, the main body need not be made larger. Since the fixing device and the opening/closing cover are not move by two actions but moved while they are linked with each other, operation is facilitated.

SOLUTION: An image formed sheet (a sheet) P is introduced between a paper discharge roller 206 and a contact part 218 of a leaf spring 215 by passing through between a fixing roller and a pressurizing roller. Before passing through between these both 206 and 218, the sheet P curves as shown by an arrow A, and this is squeezed as shown by an arrow B, and a curved condition is corrected. That is, in the leaf spring 215, in a condition where paper is pressed to the roller 206 by a contact part 218 by energizing force, the contact part of the roller 206 is recessed. When the paper discharge roller 206 is driven in rotation in this condition, the sheet P is discharged after a curve is corrected by passing through its recessed part by driving force.
